Welcome to the Hooton Park Trust, one time home to RAF Squadron 610

Lost Treasures

A film crew attended on site recently from the ‘Lost Treasures’ program. They were very sympathetic to our cause. Their spokesman said;

“Lost Treasures is not just about discovering pristine glass cabinets of the major museums. Whilst these are precious in their own right, many of the items in those collections were discovered by someone somewhere.

The Hooton Park Trust is an ongoing project of conservation and discovery. We want to highlight their need to tackle some of the archaeological challenges faced by independent trusts like Hooton. With much of the lottery funding going to the Olympic programme, the Acts of God continues to hamper the good work of the management team.

Significant funding is needed now. It is all too obvious that these hangars can fulfill a more wholesome purpose for the local community. They have a future.

We would like to pay tribute to the team who daily take on the task of conserving this site on our behalf. We intend to return with our cameras soon confident that effective progress will be made at this grade two star listed site with its' thousand years of history”

The series will be aired on Granada starting May 4th 2008.
